Default Options when ordering a new JK

I'm looking to trade in my 10 for a 12. I wanted certain options like heated seats, hard top and power options. Certain options are only available on the sahara or sport s. (per jeep.com) Am I correct in assuming that I can get whatever options I want if I order new? I can't why it I would have to order a sahara for just to have heated seats or a sport s for power options and a hard top.

I was under the assumption that the heated seats were only available when you ordered leather which is only available in the Sahara and up. I know you can order the Katzkins with the Sport, but I don't think you can get the Sahara/Rubicon leather seats.

You or the dealer can add to the sport s anything you might want, but with the sahara, you can order all the stuff you want and don't have to start hacking. Dollar for Dollar, the Sahara is a better buy if you load it up and then start adding a bunch of stuff I.E. heated seats, nav, and remote start. Also consider the trade in value of the sahara vs the sport s. Around here and in kbb, the saharas bring about 2-3k more used even with the exact same options!

Sahara has cloth heated seats available $250 option if I recall...get the starter for $200 too!

As far as ordering, what you see on the jeep site is fairly accurate. Only certain options are available on certain models. Not like the old days...on my 1984 Chevy k20, the dome light was a line item option!

I was hoping to go with the sport non s. My buget is really tight. Is there really any difference in all the models when it comes to adding options? They all start the same from the begining do they not? I cant see how they couldnt build a non s with what ever options someone would want.

Non s sport does not have power windows/locks/keyless, and not available to order either. If you want power stuff, get the s. You get a lot of features for the money by adding that s to the sport. I understand you not wanting to spend the money. I'm struggling with this decision myself right now. I really love my Sahara, but they are getting $$$. I'm thinking about a basic non s with half doors. In my opinion, if you get the half doors, you should get the non s because the half's delete all the power stuff anyway. -- unless you get a Rubicon with half doors of course... Don't think you are going this way, but worth mentioning...

BTW, I am speaking from a jku standpoint and power toys are standard on the s. On the two door wranglers, the power option must be selected as an option on the s. Power toys still not available on the base sport. I really like the 2 door Sahara's

The regular Sport doesn't offer the trac-lok rear axle either, only on the Sport S.

Certain packages are only offered on certain models, just the way it is.
