I ordered a 4dr rubi with all of the no-no's
dual top
deep tint
mygig
power windows
and automatic on 2-6-07. I knew at that time I was looking at a 3-4 month wait. I called DC yesterday just to check if I could have possibly made it to D status which I didn't of course. The interesting comment is that he said I hade a "light availability" item but he would not say what it was. After I called the dealer today my salesman said it was just the MyGig.
I am just wondering if that could be it? I dont want to cancel my place in "line" for the MyGig just to find out 3 weeks from now it was also the top, auto, etc.
I believe the MyGig is probably just a dream anyway but I liked the idea of a "breadcrumb" feature when we go on trails.

Thoughts?

 

I ordered the day you did with all the same options. I deleted the mygig a week later because it wasn't that important to me. My status is still BG but if they start building and shipping with mygig before I go to D, I will probably add it back in. I just wasn't willing to risk holding up my order over the mygig.

 

I ordered 2/24, and I'm no expert - but my dealer who is a buddy called his contact at DC (who is his friend) and he said the MyGig *IS* available now for builds. That may or may not be true, but thats what he said.

So I ordered one. Like you, I'll be keeping a close eye on how this impacts build time/delivery time. May just have to say screw it in order to get my jeep - because I need it asap.

 

IF there is an imaginary "line" of orders say 1,000 long, and say I am currently the 300th person in line for a build date. If they dont have my parts to build I get "skipped".
so, question would be if I dropped the mygig do I go to the back of the bus or do i keep my place in line?

 

Where do you guys order them from? A website or dealer?

 

I ordered from jeepwarehouse.com...as for the mygig, it is available for order but they have some glitches with it and are not building with them yet, if you remove it, I would guess that you stay in the same place. Either way, if they aren't building with the mygig, you will be waiting and being passed over until they do. I think it really has to do with dealer allocation, but even if the dealer had a spot open, you will still wait at this point because of the mygig. F the mygig! If you are still in Bg-BX and you read that they are finally building with the mygig, add it back in, that is my plan.

I ordered my Unlimited Rubicon with Freedom top, and MyGig on 12/22. 2 weeks ago I removed MyGig, since I do not believe it exists. No one on any of the boards has actually claimed to have seen one in a JK.

That said, I still have a 2 month or longer wait due to the Freedom top, and it being a Rubicon.

Personally, I hope DC sells Jeep. Maybe the new owners will know how to forecast sales, and production plan.

 

I just read on the forum that someones jeep with the mygig is due to hit the dealer 09 Mar 07. So ofcoursed I subscribed to that topic and am waiting to see what he has to say come March 09th. I am as anctious as he is to see if it arrives as you can tell from my signature below.
