Ordering the new JK 2018 model soon
Hi all,
I am a big fan of keeping it simple attitude/less electronics the better. Have had 2 TJ's and now 2 JK's and ready for my 3rd JK now but this time rather than just getting whatever is on the lot I am going to order it the way I want it.
2 door JK, 6speed, half doors, soft top, 3:73, and AC. Thats it. nothing more!
The JL in identical configuration is almost $5K more if you price it out on Jeep site. The only thing I like is the easy fold down front window and see through half doors. You actually have to pay extra to get limited slip and Dana 44 rear axle and you do not get the higher mounted fenders unless you get the Rubicon. So, all else is about the same to me.
Am I crazy or less is more.

You're not crazy if it satisfies your needs/wants. I bought my "11 new and it was the base sport model, only option A/C. Most trouble free vehicle I've ever owned (knock on wood).

I am wishing I went less; bought my dream and it's been more night mare than dreams. Last year bought a 75th anniversary 2 door; got it home and the rear headrest latch broke with in two days. Already replaced both main coolant lines went aftermarket this time. Still love my jeep but wish I went simple since I am going to change it all anyway.
