Default Out with the old in with the new

Yesterday was the day I finally traded my 2012 Jku for a 2014 jk Willy's. So sad to see my 2012 go. Many of you on here know about the heavy towing I did with it and the ridiculous records I kept about gas mileage over 108,000 miles. I sure hope my 2014 is just as reliable as my 2012 was.

I liked reading you're record keeping, so feel free to keep up that tradition with the '14. Welcome to the 2-door club

Ahhh, you must be like us with the Empty Nest nowadays, but I dare not go to a 2-door for fear the Wifey would have to confront the sudden "limitation" on cargo space on our trips (read: Vera Bradley "gear"). And that would be a very bad day for ME, indeed.

Congrats. It seems that the '14s had common (even more than normal) issues with the radiators and oil coolers. Those are the two things that stand out. Will be curious to hear your comparison thoughts a little further down the road.

Right now it just has worn out mud terrain tires. I can't concentrate on anything else until I replace them with AT which will be in a few days. My Jku has 3.73 and I held out until I found a JK with 3.73. Getting used to an auto trans is comical. Of course I keep trying to depress the clutch before starting it, and sometime reach for the knob thinking I need to downshift.

...and suddenly I begin to feel very OLD, thanks, Guys. Back in my day it was just an AMC Scrambler and hard shifting with a clutch on a trail. As a once military brat overseas it took me years to get adjusted to the automatic transmission stuff over here. Something tells me we may have already lost Americana, and with it, the Jeep as we know it. Cherish what once was, the CJ, YJ, and so forth...because it's not coming back.

God, I miss the old ways.

It did come back in the form of a Mahindra Roxor, you just can't drive it on road.

.....unless you live in TN where it's normal to tag those off-road toys and drive them on the road. ATV's and SXS's are on the road here like you'd see Honda civic's.
