This topic is about owning 2 JK's, in possession at the same time. Why have 2, his/her? One for trails, one daily. Just some thoughts about it. I own a 2007 JKU, thinking of getting 2010 JKU Mountain. I thinking I am getting a good deal, totally stock, less than 90,000 miles, no issues, $19,000. KBB has private party between $18,400 and $19,500. Truth be told, if I know now what I didn't know then, instead of getting the 2007 in October 2009, I would have ordered a 2010 Mountain, in mango tango, but this one is blue.

I think it would be great, except both would be daily AND off road. I'll likely be joining this club. Here's my short list of candidates for next vehicle, in order of likelihood. I'm keeping the JK, btw.

1. 2019 JKU Rubicon
2. Chevy Colorado ZR2
3. Toyota 4 Runner TRD Pro
4. Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro

I'm leaning toward a 6 speed manual, except with the Chevy, which won't be offered. It makes up for it with its outstanding engine, though, and I get my Dad's GM discount, which weighs heavily on my wallet. Wife prefers Jeep and 4 Runner.

2 Jeeps are the real dream, though. As long as they don't screw up the JL.

FWIW, I like the Mountain edition. Sounds like a fair deal.

I would go for a 12 or new for the engine/transmission upgrades and the new interior.

I have a 07 JK and 07 JKU bought them both new in 07. JKU is stock and 175,000 miles on it and my wife loves it. Mine is a total toy. We also have a 01 TJ, 06 Dodge 2500, and an Audi A4 convertible.

I've got a couple friends who have owned 2 JK's at the same time. One couple-both were built to the extreme and only one was wheeled. The wife preferred to be a passenger so they got rid of her built jeep for a DD.

The other couple had one that was built and one stock. Both were DD and the same thing ended up happening- the stock jeep wasn't good enough of a DD with gas mileage so they got rid of it.

The mountain is an awesome gem to have on your hands and I agree......Mango Tango would have been a cool color choice

I've got 2 JKs. Hers is an 07 jku and mine is an 07 jkur. Just like the OP mentioned one gets used for wheeling(mine) and the other one is the good looking mall crawler(hers). For some reason she breaks a lot more stuff than I do so, I take old stuff off my jeep to fix hers and use it as a great excuse to buy upgrades for mine. Works out great for me!

Bought two 2dr JKs in the past year and a half, both are 13'. One is my DD which is bone stock for now and the other is my daughters ride which is getting mild mods somehow before mine , LOL. Bought hers first before she had her license, got to drive it for eight months and lets just say I fell in love so I had to buy my own.

Ps. I'm with Dirtman on buying a 12' or newer for the motor. I almost bought an 11' but once I drove the 13' I knew I just couldn't live with that lethargic 3.8.

Met the owner at Elizabethtown, KY (aka Ft Knox). He trailered the JKU Mountain down from Indianapolis. I would have went with 2012 or newer, I wanted a Mountain. Wanted a Mountain since I wheeled with a soldier who had one back in 2011. It is totally stock, he detailed it before bringing it down. It drove awesome from Ft Knox to Ft Campbell. Less than 90,000 miles and less than $20,000. Now my wife wants a 2010 Islander, has not decided on 2 or 4. I think I have decided to get a 2006 TJUR to wheel. Thanks everybody for your input and advice. Wheel On

Its always easier when you know exactly what you want when your going to buy something. Good luck with the new ride and burning a whole in your pocket buying the other items on the list. It does seem that once one starts down the Jeep road the pockets seem to drain themselves, Lol

Yep, I bought an '08 Rubicon from new and still have it, and then went out and sold my truck and bought a '10 Rubicon from new and still have it too - both 2-door 6-speeds. The 2010 is completely stock.

I've looked at other vehicles since, and will get something else, but need more driveway and garage space because I'm keeping these.
