Hey all,

Last week my 08 JK threw a P1404 code: EGR closed position performance. I ordered a new EGR valve and replaced it over the weekend, however, after replacing this part, it threw P0404 code: exhaust gas recirculation circuit range performance.

After the PITA of replacing the EGR valve all weekend (one of the mounting bolts was stripped), I said the hell with it and took it to my regular shop. The guy said he ran some test from their diagnostic tool that supposed to engage the valve manually and claimed that this appeared to have cleared the code. A half hour after picking my jeep up, P0404 pops again.

Any advice on what could be causing this?
