Default Pads off the pipes?

So, i've been noticing the padding around the pipes for the rollbars can all come off.. just wondering if anyone has tried that, and removed all the other plasticy doodads for the old school look? Curious about how it might look, post some pics if ya have any

I've seen pics where the paint was unfinished on the roll bars, so be prepared for that.

yeah i took the pad off my rear roll bar to pas a cable through, to find the color underneath yellowish, and not black like the rest of my jeep. so the padding was kept on.

I unzipped mine a little, seemed to have the body color in the spots I saw.. but I guess if it's not all painted I could get away with black, shouldn't look too bad with the steel blue.. if I take the pads off, will I still be able to re-attach the plastic bits so I can have the soft top on for those rainy days? I don't want to have to take it all apart and put it back together every single time

i had to take the front ones off to put the sport cage in and i wanted to leave them off until i unzipped the back and saw the bars were a nice ugly green primer.. put them all back on. not in the mood to start taping everything off and paint the roll cage

When I looked at mine I noticed the backside of the padding is pink About the same shade as when you wash your whites with a red shirt. (Don't ask me how I know.)

What's up with that?

It makes me feel so .... pretty.

I figure I could always paint the roll bar. Probably a color that really stands out... the problem I can't fix easily is that the roll bar is about the size of a garden hose. The foam under the padding gives the illusion that the bar is actually worth something.
