Painted Hard Top JKs
how many of you guys have painted your hardtops on the Jks? Personally i think it looks great! I just saw one on the AEV website, but no up close pictures. I hear it is made of fiberglass, so it shouldnt be too hard to smooth it out and get it body matched.
i would personally keep the roof stock black
i photoshopped this, hope the owner doesn't mind
Any Pictures?
Thanks

just noticed on the TeraFlex rig they didn't smooth out the hardtop before paint. Still looks hella good, alot better than i would have expected.

Wild Boar
Wild Boar Offroad has a paintible Hardtop option.
While Wild Boar does not paint to match, we do offer unfinished unassembled Fastback Top kits that you can take to your Custom Auto Detailer to ensure that the Paint and Finish match your vehicle exactly.
And it is one of the coolest tops I've seen. Yep that is a JK.
I know it isn't painted but wildboarproducts.com go.

I love the painted hardtops. BUT it has to be done right, I see some that are off a shade and they look terrible. The idea is great, it is the execution of the paint job that is key.

I did not smooth mine nor did I paint the entire top. only the very top portion. I did it to reflect the heat and it works very very well. I am on my phone but you can click the link to my pics to see it. I also did a write up on it just try the search and maybe it will pop up.

Lets not let this turn into a hummer vs jeep argument.

i never thought about the heat issue, i guess it would make more sense to just paint the roof also.
