I just bought my new '09 Jeep Wrangler X in July, and I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what the best brand of bumper and winch is to buy. Unless there is no "best" brand and it's just a preference thing.

 

As far as bumpers go its all about personal preferance and there are some better built than others. As for winches it seems that Warn is king but there are other very capable winches like Mile Marker and Ramsey just to name a couple. Just like anything else your going to getsome that prefer a certain brand over others. I find the best thing to do is just take and consider recomendations and then decide on what you like the best. Remember your the one driving it not any one else. Unless your wife takes the keys when your watching the game.

The term "best" is a variable. Best at what price? Best for what use? Best for whom?

You won't go wrong with AEV bumpers and a Warn Power Plant winch with on-board air. You'll also be looking at dropping five grand or more. And if your need for a winch is twice a year to help pull you out of a snowbank, you're wasting money.

On the other hand, a discount-store winch and some chrome tube bumpers could leave you four grand for a killer stereo and a lot of neon effect lighting. You'd look great at the mall and impress some cheerleaders, even if all the off-roaders just laughed at you.

I'm on a budget and really don't wheel hard so my Christmas whish list include Rampage Recovery Front Bumper With Stinger For 2007-09 Jeep JK and either the Rugged Ridge Heavy Duty 8500 lb Electric Winch or Smittybilt XRC-8 Winch. 550$ for the bumper and 350$ or 300$ for the winch.

 

If money were "no option"........I'd probably go with AEV and Warn.
