Default Pentastar question- should i risk used- out of warranty 2012 jk?

Just run the VIN through carfax or any Chrysler dealership, it will show the service history and if/when head(s) were replaced.

At 39k miles on a 2012 I would shop around a bit more

Cool. Just for info, I'm pretty sure that the 5 year/100K mile warranty is not transferable. The 3 year/36K mile warranty is.

I have heard that as well. Do you see anywhere in the literature that says that or just heard from someone?

Thanks!

From jeep website

"We're confident in our vehicles and we're backing them with a 5-Year / 100,000-Mile Powertrain Limited Warranty+. The Powertrain Limited Warranty covers the cost of all parts and labor needed to repair a covered powertrain component — engine, transmission and drive system — on most new Jeep® vehicles. Coverage includes free towing to the nearest Jeep dealer, if necessary.

The warranty is transferable too, so if you sell your vehicle during the warranty period, the new owner will still be covered.

Plus, our 3-Year / 36,000-Mile Basic Limited Warranty+ provides bumper-to-bumper coverage of your vehicle, from the body to the electrical system."

It would be in the warranty booklet in your glovebox.
