My airbag light went on at about 20k & the dealer fixed under warranty. My current dealership I take it too says there is a recall or tsb for my 2008 jeep x rhd but I'm good as long as my light doesn't come back on. I don't know why the lefties wouldn't be included.

Unless we are talking about the same thing?
There actually is a recall on the clockspring for 07 LHD JKs -- even if it was/is covered by your warranty. If you have a deductible on your warranty, then try the recall route first since it won't cost you anything.

Hi.

I have a problem with the clockspring too.
For some reason the ribbon it is all over the place coming out from behind the steering wheel.

I see you are from Montreal, which dealer replaced yours under warranty?

Thanks

I'm thinking I might have a clock spring issue too. I have check engine light on with no codes being displayed with the built in code reader and cruise control doesn't work. Could this be the same?

More then likely it is my horn dosnt work it's the clock spring, the recall only applies if the air bag light is on all the time, that's how it was presented to me by a dealer

Everyone on this forum needs to jump on this nhtsb and file a complaint. If you have not replaced your 500 dollar clockspring you will be doing it soon. if we all file a complaint a recall or extended coverage will come from chrysler. For those that paid for the repair themselves will be reimbursed by chrysler but if we do not band together and file the complaint then nothing will be done. It takes five minutes to file a complaint of your left handed jeeps so follow the instructions on the first post and lets take a stand.......I want a new clockspring

Default Clockspring Blues

Mine just started to go off. 86000 miles. 1 day before my 8 hour trip to Yosemite area. Dealer said no recall for my 2007 Wrangler 2dr X . Even so he said he'd have to keep it a few days.. He wouldnt work on it till earliest maybe maybe a day or two later.

How many people have been stranded by this? I saw that one person here said that the Jk wouldn't start as a result.

My airbag light just came on last night. Today dealer confirmed a bad clock spring. Part is ordered and will be installed next week, after my weekend trip. I'm just concerned about getting stranded away from home with my kids.

I have extended warranty which will cover this, but I'd love a recall so I don't have to pay my $100 deductible.
