You will get positive reviews of both tires. I have 35/12.5/17 nitto trail grapplers. I have a buddy with the same sized duratracs. Both handle Ohio trails with relative ease. The nittos are slightly better off road and the duratracs are better onroad. In the area the 35 duratracs are hard to find and about 50 bucks more.

Awesome feedback guys!! As many of you know it's a tough decision. I'm really liking the trail Grapps. How do people like the Toyo Open Country's? They're about the same weight as the nitto's and apparently a sister company to them. BUT also 60$ per tire cheaper. I'm highly considering them provided no one talks me out of it

Being that you're in the great white north I would say go with the Duratracs. That's what I have and I live in Michigan, on road, which is iced over, slushed up, or wet for 8 months out of the year they have done awesome. The best way to describe them is sure footed in every day driving situations. I have read nothing but good reviews on the trail grapplers but I think the Duratracs will perform better in your "environment"
