Default picture taken while driving?!?

Ok... this is bugging me and I wanna know what others think.

Ok, I was driving home tonight and I’m on this back road where there is no street lights, hell there isn’t even paint on the road it’s so remote. Anyway, I’m driving, its 11:30, so instead of using my hi-beams, I got my 2 KC 100 watters burning so I can see a bit down the road. This is a rather windy, twisty road and is famous for deer just wandering on the road. So I figured the extra light wouldn’t hurt. The few cars going the other way, I turned the lights off for well ahead of them passing, as such they all dimmed their high beams as well. Now, one car in particular got me... I turned my lights off and just before the car passed, I saw a green light like used for focusing on digital camera, and then a flash. So my picture was just taken while passing them by. Now, I’m assuming that unless they have some $15,000 digital camera, with my fogs on, there is no way my license plate will come out clear.

I almost whipped a u-turn to follow the guy but figured I’d better not fuel the fire and just kept going.

But I’m just wondering what some of you think about this? What would you do?

I dont understand what your worried about? If somebody really wanted your plates, they could write it down while your parked, driving in daylight, etc. Its not like your allowed to mask it. Some people like to take pics while they are driving, though that sounds more like teens just out for a laugh and the flash to piss you off.

I have a somewhat similiar story. I drove the family out of town to see the meteor shower last weekend. I parked on the shoulder of a remote, dirt sideroad. One car passed us the entire time we were out there. Ten minutes after it did, a car pulled up in front of us and put on the high beams. I saw that it was a police vehicle, so I put my hands up where the officer could see them while our plates were run. He then pulled up beside us and asked how our night was going. I told him we were looking for meteors (a likely storey he's probably heard before). He looked up and said, "There's one". I asked if he didn't mind telling me what the concern was about. He told us there was someone who called in about a potential group of drinkers. He therefore asked if we had any alcohol in the vehicle. I said, "Not a drop", then my wife said, "We have a couple of juice boxes", and held them up for him to see. He chuckled and told us to have a good night.

Who knows... And how could they prove you were actually driving? And with your lights(any lights) on, it would way over expose the picture, and then you have the reflection of the flash on there side of with windshield the camera would have to contend with as well.

I wouldn't worry about it, and if by some chance you do get a ticket in the mail, dispute it in court, it's won't cost you anything, and you can prove your side of the story. And I think they would have to show up to defend their picture, for you could just say it was photo shop touched.

Ok I'm rambling... but you get the idea.
