Any suggestions went out this morning jeep won't start light all work battery good. Try to turn over don't get a click but a thump like it turns then stops idk. but after trying 5 or 6 times to start it does. Then check engine light comes on say crank shaft sensor. light went out no problem since this morning any sugestions only 36,000 miles.
Probably your crank position sensor going out? If so, I'd replace that before it fails leaving you dead in the water!
The part cost me $17, but also a strap home from the Rubicon after I died. Since that time, I started carrying a spare.
Two bolts plus one wire to install. under $20 cost. A wise item to carry a spare. The part is small, just larger than a pack of chewing gum.
You can swap the part in your driveway in under 15 minutes (or shorter after you've done it the first time)...

This happens to me sometimes and only in hot weather. A few times the past couple weeks actually and it did it last summer as well. I have an automatic and if i push the shifter forward slightly when its in park it starts right up. Never had a sensor light problem though.
