Please read!! Extremely important issue
Am I able to get in on this even though I'm Canadian??? I saw that it asks for ZIP code, which Canada does not use, (postal code = different) therefore I don't think I would be recognized. I would like to help anyway I can.
Sounds good.....cheers...i guess I'll just have to make an address too in the area...no worries dude.....
I do have an American bank Account, I guess i just use the banks address in Washington.
Done...hopefully it makes a difference....I would really like to wheel in this area one day.

Then step up and do something about this.
I've started a few threads on this very same issue on this forum. I'm relatively new to the fight so I'll just quote a few guys from my Jeep Club.

Problem is, the opposition has an overwhelming amount of true data on their side. Where we do not. Many public lands are used and abused by off road enthusiasts of all types who are using the outdoors as thier own personal garbage can, toilet, and junkyard. People see this stuff and document it. They do reasearch and accumulate it over time. After a while their point is almost impossible to argue against. Even if done as responsibly as possible driving off road does damage the environment. The argument becomes, does the enjoyment if a small group warrant the destruction of our national wild lands.

Most land that gets closed to OHV's probably should be. Most of it is not maintained by those who use or damage it. It becomes loud, it becomes polluted, and gets damaged in ways that takes the environment years to recover from.
I am a firm believer that the only way our pristine beautiful land will stay that is if human beings stay out of them as much as possible.

Most states don't want to deal with this issue. I know Illinois doesn't. I know because when I served on the board for ILFWDA I spoke to our congress people. To them our view point is kinda silly. "Hey you, let us play with our toys over here. And then you can clean up after us". That's what they hear, and at the root, that's what we're saying.

I wish we had more places to wheel in illinois, and if everyone was kind and respectful to everyone else and their surroundings, we probably would, but we dont. Sadly everything truth says is correct. So we really need to support our pay-to-play parks or we will have nothing in the near future.

All very well spoken...no matter how many of us 'tread lightly', pack out more than we came with, it's the smaller percentage that gives anything a bad taste. The old 80/20 rule... I really dislike government intrusion and dissipating personal freedoms as much as the next, but until people as a whole rise to a greater level of personal responsibility to stop the craziness, we're all hosed in some fashion.
BUMP trying to keep this up towards the to so ppl can see it. get out get active, its time we change (yeah i'm stealing this idea) america's perseption of the offroad community. the first part of the battle is keeping the legendary Moab OHV grounds
I visited Moab this spring and can't wait to go back. I sent my email. The forum should have a section devoted just to this topic and other land use issues. I hope more people on this site will see this thread and contact there representative.

Unless many of us have our congressional representatives on speed dial with the offer of a large campaign contributions we face an uphill battle. Hopefully things will work out in our favor, but then maybe they will not.
