Default Pricing: 2010 wrangler

Ok guys its the end of the year and I'm looking to see what kind of deals I can get on a 2010. What do you think would be a good deal for a 2010, keep in mind its the end of the year and the 2011's have already rolled out. And please no comments like, "its worth whatever your perception of a good deal is", thats crap logic. I want to know what you guys think a smokin deal would be for a end of the model year Jeep, I already know what I think a good deal would be, I want to get your opinion on what you think a good dollar amount off MSRP or under invoice would be. Lets hear em!

P.S. As a comparison I was getting offers for 3K under MSRP way back in June, considering its 6 months later I would hope I could do way better than this.

Well it all depends what you are looking for. Are you in the market for a 2dr or 4dr which model are you interested in sport, sahara, or rubicon? Do you intend to modify it heavly for rock crawling type of environment or the occasional trail? Honestly you need to ask yourself these questions because they can and will help you in making your decision.

The one thing I did learn from my car shopping experience is that if you wait till the end of the month you tend to get a better deal due to the salesman meeting or not meeting their quota. I was able to get the salesman to knock off close to 5k but after tax title and license most of it came back. On top of it I had the dealership install and key my gas cap for free to include five free oil changes with 4.2% apr and zero down

I've already "asked myself these questions", but it really doesn't have a big effect when dealing with new car...errr Jeep sales. I'm talking about a percentage off MSRP or invoice. Obviously with the more expensive the model the more money I should expect off considering the MSRP will be higher, that's why I'm speaking in percentages cause regardless of the price of the Jeep I should still try to shoot for a certain percentage off the top. And with it being the end of the model year its slim pickins so what I want has to blend with what is available so that's why I'm seeing what you guys think about dollar amount or percentage off the top because I'm probably not gonna find my dream Jeep with every option I could desire but that's the risk you run with waiting this long and I'm fine with it, mostly because I don't like the new interior at all. But I do appreciate the ideas about the dealer throw-ins I'll definitely bargain for some.

It does somewhat depend on your area. I got my 2010 brand new for 17,000 during summer. Now they are 23k+!

i would say try to get at least 5k taken off the MSRP and get some extra incentives. When i went in i was a COCKY MF! and i never let the salesman talk about the the monthly i warned him if he tried it to keep talking about the monthly payments i would walk out. I always haggled with the final numbers with tax title and license, right now a 2010 JK 4dr 4x4 is going for $30500 and the same vehicle but 2011 model is going for 31500 and all they are offering is 1k customer cash allowance on the 2010 models. Not much savings on that front but i would say with what they are offering you could easily get one knocked down between 3.5-5k.

There's not as much markup on a new vehicle as you might think. 5 g's markup on a used car is very realistic but a couple g's is usually all there is on new. Chrysler wants to keep their price point as low as they can. It being a 2010, I'm sure there's a g or 2 in rebates they can throw on top as well.

So you decided what to do? Well one of the guys that I know works at a dealership and he told me if you wait till january you can get better deals, you know end of year clearance and the dealers attempt to pushout the older model to make room for the new models. Shop around and don't be afraid to make a drive to find a good deal.

I just bought a 2011 Grand Cherokee limited, loaded with every option except the rear DVD screen, sticker was 47,897, and I got it for 42,000. What it takes is to be firm with the salesman and tell them what you want to pay, and tell them you have one hour to finish the deal so no bs!
My rubicon unlimited was 34,600 and I got it for 30,270 OTD.
