Default Problem in OBX

Don't know if this is in the right section so my apologies in advance.

I have been down Nags Head OBX for about four days and today when driving my naked JK I noticed an infestation of nats (or some kind of small flying insect). I have had the jeep naked for a week now. Has this happened to anyone else? they look kind of like fruit flies. Any help or suggestion short of napalm and putting the doors back on my jeep would be much appreciated!

Wear mosquito netting. You can't get rid of them, they are endemic.

You could drive down where the fires are, they aren't as thick there. You have to breathe smoke then though.

Go before the end of May or after the end of Sept. I go first week of October, no bugs, no fires, no crowds, just me, the wife, and the JK on the beach.

I don't know about the little knat things you are talking about, but we spend allot of time on the beach here in Assateague Island and they have mosquitoes that will carry your ass away. The moth balls keep them from coming anywhere near the Jeep. You do wanna make sure you take them out before you put doors and top back on or you will smell like your grandmas closet.

I was just down in Corolla last week and didn't have any problems like you have mentioned. I did get chased out of a rest stop about 2 hrs away, we sat to eat and it was like an invasion, they weren't bitting, just annoying as hell.
