Default Protective strips for bottom of doors?

Hey everyone,

New to JK forum. Wanted to see if anyone had a solution for this as I'm sure I can't be the only one with this issue.

I recently chipped the paint on the bottom of the door on my JK from laying it down in the garage and missing the mat. It's a small chip but I got a quote from a body shop for $550 bucks because he would have to blend the paint, etc, so that's not going to happen

Was thinking of just sanding the chip and priming it so it won't rust, than putting some type of protective strip along the bottom of the door so you can't see the chip and to protect it from future mishaps.

Anyone familiar with a solution?

Thanks!

I've got the same issue and got the same quote. It's been a year like that and I haven't bothered with it because of the price tag. If you find something, I'd be interested too. Stickers just won't cut it for me.

I know they sell the edge guard at any auto parts store but am hoping there is a kit or something that maybe just covers the bottom. The chip only goes about 1/4" up the door.

Before you chip it you can get stoneguard laminate from most sign shops that specialize in wraps.

Now that you chipped it, get touch up paint from the dealership, then coat in a strip of laminate. Should pretty much hide it and help protect.
