Has anybody tried to put down the windshield on Wrangler 2010?

Don't bother Biggest PITA and IMHO it looks like SHAT, not like the older CJ's or Willly's! but people have done it...see link

It's a pita and is not worth it. Useless to me, just let me put my cage in is all it's ever done for me.

It was the biggest waste of time it was fun driving for an hour without it but it looks hideous.

It looks like the windshield sits way too high on the hood.. The older models look more flush.. I was told that the reason Jeeps were designed like that in the first place, was to carry wounded from the battlefields on stretchers.. Any truth to it?

I thought it was when the windshield was shot at and hit they would put it down so they could see.

I suppose both of those sound reasonable. But, I believe it was so when Jeep's were driven around aircraft, especially on crowded carrier decks, they could drive under the wings and props. I think the rest may have been off-shoots of the new vehicle capability to lower a windshield.
