Question
So a guy at work from WV told me today that I should drive my jeep around a parking lot with 4L engaged for a few minutes then 4L for a few minutes every few months. He stated that without doing so I could blow out my transmission. I have a 2011 auto. Is this any way shape or form true?

Appreciate any tips.

No need to do that. Even in 2wd, the entire drive train still turns whenever the JK moves.
Besides, driving "around a parking lot with 4L engaged for a few minutes then 4L for a few minutes" implies making turns on the pavement, which is bad for the drivetrain.

To add to what Ron said- do NOT do that. Driving around in 4l in a parking lot is not good for your driveline. Older vehicles with manual hubs needed to be locked in to lubricate the hubs once a month but you do not have that setup so you do not need to do that procedure.
Another thing that I might add. Transfer cases with electronic shifters they recommend that you switch it into 4hi and 4lo every couple months. But that's just to cycle the shifter. Or so I'm told. Of course jks have a manual shifter so theirs no need to do this.
