A question about changing wheels
So, this is a stupid question really, but I was wondering so I figured wth. I see a lot of pictures when guys replace their wheels and they have the new wheels/tire mounted/balanced standing next to the jeep with the original wheels/tires still on. A "just before install" pic if you will. So, being the curious guy I am, Im wondering how. Are guys buying new TPMS sensors for the new wheels, taking the old ones out and doing a strategic pic setup or not running them in the new wheels at all?
It's probably just one mounted to show what it looks like. Wheel and tire shops will gladly put one together for a "test fit". After all, it helps keep customers from bad decisions. My local tire shop did this 5 times for me until I decided to just stick with stock wheels for budget reasons. Hope this helps?? TPMS still gets put in when finalized.
I'm just about to put new wheels and tires on mine and I decided not to put TPMS sensors in the new wheels and to just disable the system. I could have had them put in but I've heard that the sensors are very fragile and that some of them usually brake when you try to take them out so you end up needing to buy new ones. I've found on my stock wheels that I pretty much always have at least one tire that won't hold air because when you run at low PSI sand gets in between the tire bead and wheel so I usually fill them all up once a week anyway... I don't need a light to tell me that!
