Default Quick discos better than e-discos?

I read somewhere in this forum (can't find the post) that with quick discos you have a better flex than with the Rubicon e-discos. Thuth of myth?

I don't see how it would make a difference? A sway bar link is going to be a certain length no matter what no?

Doesn't matter how you disconnect them.

It does make a difference. The swaybar links on an e-disco NEVER get physically disconnected. The swaybar itself swivels in the center...it unlocks in the center so one side swivels up while the other side swivels down. With a manual disconnect, the lilnks actually disconnect from the axle, so you are not limited by the links still being connected to the axle like with an e-disco set-up. As far as which one gets more flex, I would think the manually disco'd links would get more, but I have not seen any compairisons to tell. It would also depend on your full set up too, I would think.

Hope that explaination makes sense.

It does, thanks. I manually disconnect mine, never thought the e-discos would keep the link "sorta kinda" attached. Now I understand how they work.

If both Jeeps had the same set up you would get more flex with the manual disconnects. I have seen the difference in flex between both and there is a difference not a whole lot but it is there.

agree with this, the e disco works great, but I have both and if I know I'm going to be flexing a lot, I would rather disconnect completely, I have almost broken the bracket on my left link, it is know bent, which tells me that it is stopping me from flexing even more.

if you look at this picture, you can tell the e disco and/or links are maxed out limiting flex, that wouldn't happened if it was completely disconnected, now that can be either good or bad, but it is certainly different.

I'm pretty sure RJB does NOT have an e-disco on this beast:
