I love these things.
Personal experience. I like the look of the in channel but they can cause issues if you have electric windows. (Binding issues and shorten the life of the motor) I use the tape on and if they come loose (usually around 3 years in my case) I clean them off and apply fresh 3M tape.Attachment 133515

would definetly buy again. however, keep in mind they will interfere a little with removing the doors if you set the top sill on your shoulder for carry like some do. you wont be able to do that.
i dont find it to be an issue though.

I have the tape on also, Love being able to always have a window open.
It does create a caution when removing doors,
If you hang them on hooks on a wall, you can't do this anymore.
If you lean them against each other on the floor, be careful. space the bottoms out further.
Like the previous poster said, carrying them with your shoulder through the window is a no,no.
Once you realize these, your good to go.
