Default Random MPG changes.

So...as of the last three weeks my MPG went from 13.3 to 16.1.

I fill up once a week at the same gas station and have not changed my driving habits whatsoever or my commute. AKA nothing has changed.

Don't get me wrong...I'm stoked...but if it means my car is going to implode I'd like to be warned.

Anyone else have this happen to them?

Over the last 12,000 miles (since I bought the 2012 new), my average mileage has gone up every month (January through June). Started at 16.3 and up to 18.2. Every month it goes up a few points. I don't know if it's things breaking in, me getting less 'enthusiastic' driving, weather conditions or tread depth, but I'm keeping an eye on it.

Default It's

been holding steady at about 16. Which is literally a 3 MPG increase out the blue. I always reset my mileage and MPG when I fill up.

Either way...it's still going hard. So I can't complain.

How many miles do you have? It could be the engine finally breaking in. At around 35,000 miles, my 2010 corolla jumped up another 3-4 miles per gallon. I really never noticed any break in with jeep. I just recently hit 22k miles.

Gasoline isn't like it was when I was a kid, with the silly alcohol additive, I'm sure that has a lot to due with shifting gas mileages...and friends have said the winter gas causes lower mileage and summer gas is better, is this true, can't verify that, and it may only be done up here in The Great White North, different companies with different blends, who knows...
Unfortunately, we're all under the thumb to use what they supply us...no, I'm not bitter..

3 mpg ends up being like 50 extra miles a tank for me...which equates to like an extra 3 days of driving without a fill up.

Thread worthy indeed. Haha.

Default Mine just...

... keeps plummeting.

Actually, when I drove it new off the lot I would get +27mpg according to the dash. I think the dealer put on the Rubi 32's and it skewed the numbers. Now I get 21 or so under 60mph and a solid 14 in town.
