Random thoughts...

I always hate it when someone parks so goddamn close to me I can't open my door all the way just to get in my Jeep...

...but today I didn't mind so much

I wouldn't mind that so much either

There are a ton of Jeeps in the parking garage I park in at work. I try to park next to them to help "show them the way", but alas they are still stock

With my mildy lifted unlimited JK and shrockwork sliders, when a neighboring vehicle is too clsoe and opens their door they will hit the sliders. Thus they do damage to their door and not mine.

x2 - when I owned BMW's I would park in the 'boonies' and just worry about door dings, but like you with lift, rock rails and plastic fenders - the damage will be on them.
