Rattle buzzing noise around 3k rpm?
Hello all, ive had my jeep for a couple of weeks and everytime the revs get up around 3k there is a buzzing sound that seems to be coming from the dash but for the life of me i cant figure oit where. Has anyone else experieced this? I read about a similar sound being caused by the heater lines but i addressed that and it still didnt help the issue. Any ideas? Thanks.
Hi and thanks for the response. It is repeatable and it's a manual transimission. Happens everytime I get to about 3200 rpm and then goes away around 4k.
It seems to be coming from the top of the dash towards the passenger side. I've tried driving around with the revs at 3200 and touching everywhere on the dash to see if I could get it to stop but had no luck. It's starting to drive me crazy. It's not super loud and doesnt sound mechanical, it's just annoying.

Just a thought,
Have you tried smacking the dash with the palm of you hand?
If so and it did nothing, it might be something behind the dash.
What about the glove box..... got anything inside that might
make that vibration happen?
You say you've had your Jeep for a couple of weeks....It's
still "Brand New"..... Bring it back to the dealer and let them
know what's going on.

Can you get it neutral when you run it up to 3200 or does it have be under a load?
Sounds like it could be an issue with the heater lines. Pull the glove box out and see if it gets louder. You should see two lines just to the left of the opening. Use a high temperature zip tie and tighten the lines together.

Hello, thank again. I looked into the heater lines and I jammed a piece of heating duct between the two lines but I'm still getting the noise. If I can't figure it out, I will take it to the dealership. I'm just trying to avoid the trip.
