Greetings. A couple of years ago my wife and I bought vehicles from the dealer. A 2006 Chrysler Pacifica for her, and a 2010 Jeep Wrangler for me. Now the Pacifica has about 65,000 miles on it, and the Jeep has just under 20,000 miles. The dealer keeps talking about a check up whenever I bring them in for an oil change. Which is rather pricey. Now today I get an email from them saying that both vehicles are due for a 27 month check up. Both vehicles have the same 3 stage checkup plan, the Jeep being different in what they check because of the 4x4. On both of them the cheapest one is about $300.00. That's about $600.00 for the two of them. When I mentioned the prices the guy said that the 60,000 mile check up on the Jeep will be about $1,000.00. These are only check ups not replacing anything they find. They want to put nitrogen in all of the tires. I asked why, because my vehicle is a Jeep not a NASCAR vehicle. If I don't go for this checkup will it void my warranty? Thanks for reading this.

Did you add any type of extended warranty?
Being that one is a 2006....I'm assuming at least one was used, correct?

 

They're trying to screw you.

 

Make sure you respect the owner manual maintenance and that should be all you need

Next time your dealer talk to you about nitrogen in your tires ask him when is the last time he aired down at the trail and if he have bottle for take out :-P

In all seriousness my dealer asked around 300 for changing oil in my transfer case and axals.

 

Mine did the same to me on my 03 Dodge Ram. I never did it though.
I kept that truck for 8 years without the slightest problem.
