Question Recall on 2012 Brake Pads?

Hey JKers,

So around 3500 miles on my new JKU, my right rear brake started to really sweak. Went into the dealership and they said it needed new brackets. They finally placed an order for them and let me know that they were ready to be installed.

When I arrived at the dealership, they failed to check the box and only one bracket arrived. Upon calling Chrysler, they said that there is a nation wide recall on brake pads.

Has anyone else heard of this or been notified by dealership/Chrysler?

Thanks, SpiderDice

I haven't heard about the recall but mine started making noise this week. Only 4400 miles.

You should contact your dealership.

They said they are on back order so letting them ASAP would be beneficial.

I haven't heard anything either, I have almost 8k on mine.
No noise though, but I will check into it anyway.
Thanks for posting.

My brakes have made that noise since 3000 miles, I now have 12,300. I just ran my vin at jeep.com and there is no recall posted. I'll be glad if it does though, free pads

Mine started at 2500 miles on my 2012. If I don't do anything will it incur more damages?

Not sure about that, but it's probably best to get them replaced.

Doubt it, but I'm not to sure. Its probably just cheap brake pads that Jeep used to cut corners to save money.
