They appear to be identical to bulldog, rugged ridge, smittybuilt, etc. I was actually gonna buy that one but found a mint Warn XD9000i on craigslist for a little more and bought that instead.

Well ... you could be the JK Comrade and buy one and check it out for everyone else and report back.

Everyone's only issue with the non-name brand winches is parts availability when something breaks ... I would definitely call RECON first ... they have a website .. and ask them about replacement parts.

Default parts

phone call to this place called recon(954)... a bit of pressure but the guy
conf. called the manufacturer in calif. nice! (prob. just an importer)
aussie fellow knew his stuff... seems they stock all the parts for this winch...
wish i could have got his # directly but still felt comf.
made mostly in the netherlands..

this is no warn or ram.... but reasonably priced for me...

88ft. of name brand dyneema syn. line (although it looks weird in the add)
10.5k capacity
wireless remote & std. remote
3yr. warranty
alm. hawse fairlead
somewhat light??? 62-66lbs.

bottom line??? inexpensive winch w/ up to date features for part time use??
or pita non-functional bumper ornament.... might just take one for the team here!

any thoughts???????????????

It's only light because you don't have 45lbs of steel cable on it ..... Synthetic is the way of the future. If/when my steel cable rusts or craps out I'll go with synthetic ...

Default update!!!!

got the winch this week!!! looks good for whatever that's worth!!!
it's a brand called recon made over seas. (fnd. on ebay, but bought direct)
10.5k capacity
6.5hp mtr
most all the standard features but also came w/
cordless remote
dyneema syn. line
corded remote
billet alm. fairlead
ebay $395

bench tested it and seemed to work great!
all wire leads look prof. done! shrink tape...etc stainless parts on it...etc
this seems like a too good to be true thing... but what the h@ll..... syn. line is w. that
hope to get it installed soon.....
