Regular maintenance question
I bought my Rubi at a dealer about 150 miles from home. Way better deal than what I could get at the local dealers. I would prefer to use a local dealer for scheduled maintenance and if needed, any warranty work.
From a dealer's point of view - Does it make any difference where I bought the vehicle when I bring it in for scheduled maintenance? What about warranty work?

A dealership shouldn't care about where you bought it (I mean, obviously they wish you bought it through them, but $ for the service is $). As far as warranty work goes, the dealership is reimbursed through Chrysler, so that shouldn't make a difference either. Just make sure that the local dealership doesn't do any "recommended" (not explicitly required by the service manual) service!

what if you end up going to a general garage and they screw up something and now it needs to be fixed by the dealer? it could happen...
Not for routine srvs. If you don't do the srvs; that will void your waranty. =)
You can get the srvs done anywhere; even do it yourself. Atleast that way you will know if was done. My mother is a manager of a Walmart in Ohio. She has a 4X4 Jeep and would have the srvs dept. at HER Walmart do the srvs. They NEVER checked her front diff fluids. During the winter needed 4hi and shifted it in to 4hi, and nothing but a loud grinding came from the car. Took if to our family's body and frame shop, they checked the front diff, and found NO fluids. Empty! If you can't trust your own employees, who can you trust???

I am not aware that Jeep (or any manufacturer) mandates that you get your routine service done at the dealer or you run the risk of voiding the warranty. I don't think they can legally make that a requirement of the warranty unless it is specifically stated, which I don't believe it is.
