They've always been strong, but if market trends continue I expect them to slide eventually. Hopefully they will stay up there though.

If this is true explain why kelly Blue Book has mine currently valued at $14,500 for trade in value and NADA has the same at $20,500. I even emailed KBB to ask what the deal was and of course did not receive a response. What a surprise .

I could see a thousand or two difference but 6 thousand. That doesn't even make sense.

Well trade in value is the dealer-butt-rape value, so thats probably your 6 thousand.

I don't know, I have seen a lot of TJ's on the used car lots in the area. I am thinking with gas prices still high, the desirability of the Wranglers is dropping off rapidly to the soccer mom/SUV crowd. Eventually, this may kill the resale values.

That's where it gets weirder. That is the trade in value for both. The retail sale value is only off by about a thousand. So Nada says the dealer should make 2-3 thousand selling it off of a trade in. Since mine would require only some detailing that sounds about right.

However Kelly Blue Book says the dealer should make about 9 thousand from trade to sale.

If their resale value has dropped then it should drop all the way around, not just on the trade in.

resale has usually been okay, the gas mileage is one thing with wranglers but that didn't stop us from adding 35" tires to it

but in a couple years, like 3 or 4 i plan on trading it in on a decked out Mustang GT or a decked out Challenger both come out about the same so that wil be tough...
