Default Rock Rail Hardware?

Anybody had any luck buying hardware from the dealer?

I sold my Rubi rails (with hardware) and am adding used Enhanced Rubi Rails (without hardware).

My dealer can not locate the hardware in their parts catelog without buying the rails or steps.

Thanks!

I bought them from my dealer, they are called U-nuts, I will see if I still have the receipt at home tonight. They charged like $6 a piece though. You need 4 of them, the front holes are threaded already. It wasn't under accessories, she had to look up the part number off a Rubicon diagram.

That's what I thought. They were just looking in the parts catalog.

Part numbers would be great for the U-nuts and the two different types of bolts if possible.

Thanks!!!

You don't want to use just any bolt in there either. I tried several thread types and sizes because the factory ones were taking a few days, but none worked. The nuts that attach the rails to the body seam are a common size, and I got them in a NAPA bolts bin.

abock33, can you PM me on the cost of the u-nuts? I removed my Rubi rails for a few months as I procrastinated cutting them. Now that I started to cut them and reinstall, I noticed I forgot to remove those u-nuts and now I'm missing 4 of them on my 4-dr.

Sry I forgot I posted this. The bolts are an M8 its the standard thread (think its a M8x1.25x20). I was just making sure I had hardware when I put mine on as we were out of town when I got them. We only have M6 and 1/4x20 u nuts. I think home depot or lowes should have them. Also the other nuts are M6's.

thanks for the info. So can i get all the necessary mounting hardware at home depot or lowes?

do I need 6 of the M8 bolts and 4 matching u nuts (since two of the holes are threaded) and then 12 M6 nuts for the rail mounted bolts?

Thanks for the help!

just got off the phone with the parts dept at my local dealer. He tried the accessories catlaog first (even though I asked him to look in the parts catalog)...anyway

the nuts are 6mm by 1", the u nuts are 8mm by 1-1/4" and the bolts did not have details listed. He also told me the u nuts are not a serviced item, so he can order the bolts and the nuts but not the u nuts. Anyone have any luck getting these?

I think I'm headed to the local hardware store tonight to see what I can find - hoping to get all the necessary parts there any avoid needing to get them from the dealership.
