Does anyone use BOTH side steps (I have tubular) AND rock rails? Looking for added door protection. Thanks.

Several here run something like the rubi-sliders and then ace sliders underneath. My setup has been this way for about 8 months now but that might change here in a few months only because I'm going aluminum. Otherwise I haven't had any issues.

Steps for the girls. When I go off-road I can leave the ace slider/steps on or take them off and just run the rubi-sliders.

If you have the tube steps already and they extend out, you're not going to get much door protection from an additional slider...

I saw something in the new quadratec catalog and can't remember who makes them. But they are steps while traveling on cement, but flip up against the rockers while off-roading. Seems like the best of both worlds to me.

if you have the nerf style tubulars than you have the some rock protection. If you want something similar to that than most people run the rubi rails with the ace sliders underneath. Some ground clearance is sacrificed but it is a solid set up. If you want both of those in combo then check out Rock Hard's new slider, doesn't sacrifice ground clearance:

There is a guy on this forum who built some really nice rails with steps in Waco, Tx. He has them for sale asking $300.

Sorry to the OP for the off-topic question, but how do you like the CB antenna up front like that as opposed to the rear like everyone else? Would you do it differently next time, have you done it different and prefer this? Any better or worse reception mounted like this?

I saw that one too. I think there's a hydraulic/shock hooked up to it so it can swing up or down. I don't think anyone here has been the guinea pig yet for it though. Be interesting to see how it would hold up against some actual rocks....
