Rollcage damage
Hi guys,
Well i guess there's one more jackass that has finally understood 4wd is only good to make you move easier and that it has nothing to do with stopping!!!!
I was rear ended by an H2 on Fri afternoon.
Conditions were miserable, we got a pretty good storm hitting us so idiots were out in numbers. Jeep ego is quite bruised up and I have a major case of whiplash...
All in all we both got away with very little...(I have uploaded a few pics)
Quick question.
I dropped off the jeep to the body shop this morning for an estimate. While getting my goodies out, I noticed that my plastic covers surrounding the rear roll cage upper member was knocked (shattered) about 6" forward Sorry no pics yet). I tried to see if welds or other indication of the actual member being affected were visible, but at -30, it didn't have the balls to check much.
My questions is: Can a roll cage be repaired to full integrity or is this now a potential issue for a write-off? I don't want to risk hurting someone with less than perfect safety features.
Thanks
Bern
