Default royal purple

Has anyone used royal purple in their jk. I have 125000 on mine and I am thinking about for my next oil change. Is it worth it. I used to use this back in the 90s

I use Royal Purple for all of my fluids. I highly doubt you will notice any difference in driving performance, but with lubricants it is all about how well they protect and making the parts last as long as possible, not HP and performance gains. There is always a massive debate with synthetic vs. conventional, with a ton of opinions and a ton of myths.

I don't have any numbers to back it up, and I just rolled the odometer past 40,000, so I can't make any arguments for how long it has lasted. Just one man's opinion, but I do feel that Royal Purple is the way to go.

Happy Jeeping.

I have 2012 JKU. I change oil every 5k and exclusively use synthetic. Most times its penzoil. One time I switched to royal purple. Absolutely could tell no difference at all. I also track mpg for every single tank over my 54,000 miles of driving. There was no measurable mpg change over the 5k which used the royal purple. I'm not knocking the oil as it's perfectly fine, but you will not see or feel a difference for your increased expense compared to lower priced synthetics.

I use royal purple and a purolator synthetic filter in my 10 JKUR with 55k. I am very happy with the combo. I am changing every 10k per Blackstone who has been analyzing my oil. So the little extra cost is null and void. I personally like the piece of mind knowing I am using a high quality oil and filter and the analysis report is evidence of that.

Why do so many people throw their money away and none of it ends up in my pocket. Yah look at the mountains of blown engines and parts blocking the view of the sun......All the result of those bastards that sell regular oil products. Damn them and their research

I primarily use Mobil 1 in everything. I recently tried Royal Purple and noticed only one thing. My engine temp ran a little higher with the RP as compared to Mobil 1. If you research it, you can find the history of synthetics and how each manufacturer makes their oil. Many start off with a petroleum base vs mineral oil base. Then, they add ingredients from there.

I'm indifferent to RP but I didn't like my engine temps running 10-12 degrees higher than they do with Mobil 1. This also happened in the fall on cooler air temps. I already went back to my preferred oil.
