Default Rubicon transfer case of the JK and TJ

A guy told me that the JK Rubicon TC is the same part # of the TJ Rubicon TC

Is it true?

If yes, I guess it should fit in the JK?

One more question he asked me; is it possible to buy a Rubicon TC aftermarket?

The NP-241OR is used in the Rubicon models from '03, TJ through the current JK.

TJ Rubi t-case is different from the JK Rubi case. A friend tried that swap........no dice. It was not a direct bolt up. I don't remember the exact problem, but there are differences. BTW, both Rubi's had automatic transmissions.

The TJ Rubicon transfert case has the same part number

The new dana 44 is a new generation since the JK (different from the TJ)

But, I don't know if the JK transfert case is also a new generation (even with the same part number )

The transmissions are different so I doubt if they would just bolt up.
