Default Rugged Ridge Bumper ?? - Is it bent...

Got a new RR stubby front bumper with hoop for xmas.

I notice that the top portion of where the fairlead attachs is bent. Is this normal? It appears bent exactly in the middle. There are no "stress" cracks in the paint.

I've attached some pics... sorry not the best of quality.

It looks bent to me. Mines not like that. You could probably straighten it but it will more than likely chip the powdercoat.

Hi--I checked mine---I have slight curve the opposite direction of yours...not as pronounced. I did have an problem when mine 1st arrived----Rough handling in shipping and some parts had come loose and beat up the bumper. The folks at Rugged Ridge were GREAT!! The replaced it right away...Speak with the company you purchased from if you want to get it replaced. I am Sure Rugged Ridge will Help.

Mine was the same way and I could bend it back by hand. Once you put a fairlead on there it will keep it straight.

Mine was like that also due to shipping abuse. Was able to straighten it out with no ill effects.

Mine was like that also , I think it was a little warped from welding the rest of the bumper , it's the only piece that's single thickness without a bend to strengthen it . made no difference in install or use of mine

Default It's fixed...

Thanks for all the responses. I used the "bend it back by hand" solution and it seems fine. And I'm sure the fairlead will keep it straight. Now I need to go install it.

just curious what winch are you using? I ordered that bumper also and the hoop using the storage caps. it should be in by the end of the week. Over a lot of reading and thinking I went with the Recon 10500lb winch...

The one I purchased was the same way. The bumper itself was great, and looked great, but the fairlead plate was bent the very same way as yours.
