Default Rust Prevention

Some background:

I live in Corpus Christi which is right on the Gulf of Mexico in Texas. Rust is a major problem. I want to prevent rust from happening, and cure the rust that I have acumulated. It is one of the most frustrating problems that I have ever come across.

So what have other people done to prevent, and cure the rust from their Jeeps? Short of dismantalling the whole vehicle and rhino lining the thing I dont see how it can be done. Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Tyler

Hey Tyler it's Hook-em from the club. Have you considered painting the more exposed components with POR-15 paint. I've heard some really good things about it. It might be worth a shot.

Your probably already familiar with cathodic protection. Since you live buy the gulf, this method should be readily available.

I live in Canada, and with salt on the roads all winter I undercoat my rig every year. They even give me a bit of a warranty too. I also have a electronic rust inhibitor installed on both my cars. It sends a small current of electricity through the vehicle to help prevent corrosion.
Anything helps.

Are you talking hooking an anode to the Jeep?
