I bought the sahara because I don't like the black fenders although they are better for offroad and I don't need a rubicon because I don't do any hardcore wheelin. I am not scared to take it offroad whenever I can.

I bought my Sahara as i actually like the look of the painted flares as well I really did not need lockers or 4:1 transfer case...yes it would be nice...BUT I have yet to require them on my off-road adventures. The Sahara has done me well and I have made it through area's where Ruby's have gone....with a different line or more skinny pedal.

Flares I have added 3M clear bra tape and I have very little issue with scratching.....Sahara is very capable off-roader

Here is Mall Crawler at work

Default SAHARAS ...off road or not?????

I bought my 2009 Sahara for my 40th Birthday. I was coming out of a lease that had all the power options including heated seats, remote start etc. so this made sense to me. The Rubicons were priced several thousand more. I would like to replace the fender flares as they are getting pretty scratched up. Not sure if the Bushwackers are comaptible but they look good.

I like the painted flares. Mine have a few scratches but most of them can be buffed out.

Jeeps are designed to go offroad regardless of their designations x, Sahara ,or Rubicon. I happened to get a good deal on my Sahara and have wheeled it many weekends even though it is my daily driver. What irks me are the mall crawlin posers in Rubicons that will never see anything but pavement, such a waste.

My "S" prefers the rocks... With that said the rocks prefer my fenders

Default Why does everyone want to bash Sahara?

It's not like it's a compass or something, the 3.73's are way better than some of the x's, the fenders look better and seem to wear just as well as the rest of the rig, get more ammenities, higher ground clearance with the tow package, and the limited slip diff works well. My stock Sahara has made it through most things I can throw at it, and now with the winch it's even better. My sahara was as cheap as an X and a Rubicon was first not available and would have been 10grand more if had to order it, so it was totally worth it!!

X, Sahara or Rubicon. It's the same Jeep. No matter what model you have, the important things are the mods. You can put it on any JK:

1. Tires
2. Gears
3. Lift
4. Winch
5. Lockers
6. quick discos

The only things that is hard to find for the X and Sahara: the Rubicon transfert case 4.1

Default bad roads

down here you just need a heavy duty vehicle just to get around, also one w/raod manners. here we to have deal w/alot of pot holes and toppes. cars dont really last that long, thats why there are two muffler shops on each block. roads to ranches utilizes 4/w.d. but avoid the big rocks, as we want to drive home. i know this is a recreational forum, but for some of us,its a daily drive.sahara, sport, rubi, its just how you want to mod it to fit your daily needs. oh, by the way, down here, we dont judge each other by the color of your fenders.
