Default "Satisfied customer"

I know the re-gearing topic has been talked about already but I wanted to share my satisfied customer story with others who are considering getting it done and are in the Phoenix area. I had decided soon after putting my 4"lift on and adding 35s that it was going to be needed, and soon. And let me be clear, those who have 4.10s, auto trans and run 35s or 37s - and say its tolerable, are NUTS! It was painful at best, even if the A/C and O/D was off, it was horrible. So after calling several companies and checking this site of course I called Joe at Obsolute Off Road in Phoenix. Great people to talk with, including Ryan, and they know the JK better than anyone. I asked them about issues regarding gear noise and problems I've heard from others here with "Sub-perior" gears. He explained they had figured out why there was some of the problems with the new gears- and the quality control issues with 'Sub-periors" gears. His crew has done dozens of installs with no problems. Out of respect I will keep his secret safe on what they do to have noise free and reliable results. Its been few days and have had no problem with the 5.13s. So if you want great service, better mpg, O/D back and your sanit!!! get the 5.13s not 4.88s and call Joe. Thanks again Joe, Ryan and crew at Obsolute Off Road Phoenix. yours truly satisfied customer. p.s My silver Sahara thanks you too.

Wow. It would be nice to know what it is that way others who might potentially have these installed could warn their intallers.....like me eventually.

Since its a quality control issue with "Sub-perior" (the whine some people are experiencing) they should be the ones to either offer install advise or spend more time finishing their product before they ship it out to you or me. Obsolute Offroad took the time to trouble shoot a inferior product.

If you or someone else has figured out a way to avoid a potential disaster with a regear, why not share it with the rest of this community and save save someone a lot of heart ache. Why would would you want to keep such a thing to yourself?? Is it realy that big of a secret??

Yes, it would be great to share that knowledge...Maybe it's not AZJEEPFAN's place to reveal the info or was told to keep it to himself..I think we should ask Absolute Offroad directly...Maybe they'll share that secret w/us..

Because that's how some people make themselves feel better. There are no secrets. There are only things some know and others are waiting to find out. All knowledge shared helps all. There is no point in "holding back" information. Especially since most of the forum aren't anywhere near Absolute to take advantage of their services.

This is a forum to help others as I see it. This forum has helped me and others a whole lot. Azjeep needs to get a hold of himself, holding back info and slamming a gear company " Sub-perior gears" is not gonna make him too many friends here. In fact I think they are actually the only ones you can get JK gears from right now, even if they are branded under a dif name. This leads to the install and probs people are having and have I'm pretty sure been fixed by installers that have called Superior gears. Whoever installs your gears, you should make sure and tell them to call superior and make sure about your particular install(AKA install on dana 44's and dana 30's on a JK)

mkjeep, Bottom line is Superior IS the only company making these for now. It limited my choice to 1 brand. I have heard several people here talk about a 'whine" sound from their gears. I paid $1300.00 for gears, I would prefer to not have a whine after plunking down hard earned cash. The shop that did my install said they did call Superior about the noise issue and they said they were not aware of any issues, (no help there) After spending countless hours (of their own time) trying to figure out why some of the sets were noisey, the shop said there was some quality control issues and that caused them to do some "additional work" on the gears before they install them. I do not claim to be an installer - thats why I took it to the experts, therfore I don't have all the technical details. Maybe Superior will begin to work with all customers to reslove this issue. If you are right about Superior helping those who call with issues than we will probably not see any more posts about "whine" right?
