Default Scratch help

While driving my Jeep in the woods last weekend I ended up with some "custom pinstriping" about 2 feet long. Its not deep enough to feel but definitely an eye sore. When I got it cleaned up I tried some turtle wax polishing compound with a little luck and then some maguires scratchx 2.0 with a little more luck, but still visible.

This is where I messed up...my wife was in town and asked here to pick up some turtle wax buffing compound figuring I'd step it up a little. After applying I noticed on the tub it said "rubbing" compound. Too aggressive as it left a dull finish the entire length of the scratch! Someone help me out here, I've got a small polisher to use but need to know what to do and what to use to bring the shine back...even if I have to live with a slightly visible scratch.

Its not the end of the world as I bought the Jeep to use as it was intended to be used from time to time but this is a 2011 model and my DD. Any help would be appreciated!

Follow it with some polishing compound. I would try one of the scratch removers and see if the shine comes back. Then wax over the top of that. You should be OK as long as you did not cut past the clear coat.

I use touch up paint the pen type that you can get from quadratec.com or kragen auto parts I've had lots of scratches and it sucks but really no easy fix. Just wait a few years an get a high speed buff and your jeep will look new again.

Check through this guys videos about different scratch removals. This is one way of taking them out, all depends on how deep they are. For that dull finish you could send him a pm and im sure hell help you out with what to use. Hes helped me out a few times. As for how to use a polisher he has several different videos about how to use them. Check it out. Hope this helps.
