Default seat belt

My passenger side seat belt suddenly will not release, as in I cannot pull the buckle down to latch it, won't budge more than an inch, kind of like when you hit the brakes and it locks the belt in place. No other braking issues.. any on have any ideas? I spent 2 hours messing with it

Both my front seatbelts failed from running through too much mud and water without any doors. I was stupid and tried to take them apart and clean them up instead of getting them replaced under warranty. Usually it's just a bit of dirt that gets in the mechanism and prevents it from working.

If you do decide to replace it yourself, use a torch to melt the loctite before removing the lower bolt holding the whole mechanism in place.

Hmmm, I have been topless most the year, ill look deeper. It feels to me though like its the locking mechanism kicking in just seems odd to only happen on one belt

I sprayed mine with wd40 both drivers and passenger seat belts locked up on me.... I'd fiddle around with Em and get it freed up then spray the gears being sure not to spray the belt itself
