Default sending back trektop

Just noticed..where the door surrounds meet on the driver's side, it has ripped a hole in the weatherstripping, and its rubbing the paint off the door...the bar is straight, and is installed right..not impressed..back to the freedom top..sending it back.

Mine managed to wear a hole in the upper corner of the weather strip. I pointed it out to the service writer. They ordered and installed a new weather strip, under warranty.

I suggest you do the same. What have you got to lose?

forgive me for asking but... what's the difference in the two? Other than the problem you are having.

Trektop is an aftermarket frameless soft top. The Freedom top is the 3-piece hard top.

edit: my stepdad helped me put it on..seems the door surrounds for the front were on the wrong sides..it was hot out, he was exhausted, had to go pick up his daughter..i didnt notice it either when he put them on that way..not a huge deal, i can just get the weatherstripping replaced..now its not catching at all on the door and it fits way nicer..i knew something didnt look right..just been too busy to really look at it until last night..all fixed now! btw, i was able to get the bolts into the footman loops up front without undoing anything else..had to use a lot of muscle, but they went in nice..

I have heard nothing but terrible reviews about Bestop lately. Back in my TJ days they were the brand of aftermarket top to go with. Though I've never owned one, It's sad to see what was a good name go down the tubes. Another forum member had a video link to his bestop upper doors and how highway speeds affected them. It was unbelievable... the top of the window frame sucked out so much you could stick your head between the gap. Another forum member reported the same on that thread.
