And indicate whether you have an auto, stick, stock gears, stock tires, etc. Please don't say "it's a Jeep who cares about mileage." I care and wondering what we've all done.
Here's what I've done, which are only driving habits. I'll mod it to increase mileage if possible (plugs? SC?). I have a an auto and everything's stock:
- Accelarate slowly
- Keep freeway rpm's below 2g's (no faster than 60mph)
- Coast in idle
- Turn engine off at red lights.
- Tire pressure at 42lbs. And yes, my tire wear is very normal and even.
W/o practicing this, I get 16 mpg's. Now, I get 18.5

Warning: Most people that do this are Douche Bags who drive Prius's.

I drive a 6-speed and I don't go to extremes to conserve fuel, but I've found that a lot of smaller things help, like coasting up to stopped traffic, not slamming the gas pedal to the floor when accelerating, checking my tire pressure regularly, etc. I haven't calculated my mpgs lately, but before I added my lift, 33s, and steel wheels, I'd get about 18 in the city and 21 on the highway. This was hand calculated, btw. The computer was usually a bit higher.

My computer always shows better mileage, too. On my last outing, the computer showed 19MPG average but my calculations revealed 17.5. This was a mixture of highway and off road miles.
I have a stock 2dr Rubicon 6sp.
Has anyone carefully calculated the real MPG advantage of using a Superchips programmer?

BLK, do you have a stick or auto?
The filling up at night thing is a myth because the gas is stored deep enough in the ground where temperatures aren't significantly effected by atmospheric temps.

You can fuck off I'll hypermile and save $ by being more efficient if I want to. If you're rich enough to waste gas, congrats to you dude. I am not. Now, go be a Douche Bag elsewhere.

I have a post in the modified section about whether a superchips will increase mpg's for an auto with stock gears and tires, but no one has an answer for this. Anyone use a superchip on their stock JK with an auto trans and experience an mpg gain?

Why? 42lbs has suited me well. Smooth ride, very normal tire wear, slightly better mileage. I'm not compromising anything so there's nothing to admire.
