I have a 2011 Rubi and have been thinking of taking a trip to the dealer for a test drive. Just curious how much it would cost me to upgrade to a 2012 Rubi.

I couldn't do it. I paid $20K for my 2010 JKU, stripped it of everything valuable and was going to trade it in on a fully loaded Sport/auto. They were going to give me $20k for my trade in, and about another 13K out the door for a factory built 2012.

But then I started thinking, now I have 33K in a brand new - stock JKU! My wife would not let me spend anymore money to fix it up the way I wanted...i.e, exhaust spacers, new driveshafts, 4" x-series lift, new wheels and tires.....I would have almost 40K into a brand new jeep!

Just kept mine and will be adding the lift and tires to it, by the time I sell everything that came with the Jeep, I will have it the way I want it and only about $22K into it.

If money is no object than do it, but look further down the road IMO.

There's a difference in "good enough" and "better". There will always be a "better" - that's what makes yacht payments for Chryco executives. The JK was "good enough" for 4-5 years, for more than 300,000 buyers, with sales increasing every year since the crash. I'd say you did the right thing.

You r going to lose from 5 to 7K. I have a sport s, loaded except for NAV and 12k miles they only offered me 23k for jeep. I'm still really contemplating but I'll probably wait until I get a raise in march

I didn't care if it was an 11 or 12. Hopefully soon the stars all line up and a HEMI will replace the 3.8. I want to wait until I can handle what ever comes up in the conversion. Like building/replacing Diff's, Gears, Lockers, Big Brakes ect.

The 3.8 has already been replaced, it is no more.
