Default Shifter Knob FYI

I ordered the Drake off road shifter knob and transfer knob from Quadratec. Wasnt sure what they would be like, but once I got them I can tell you they are made great. They are aluminum one piece with a black rubber tire tread wrapped around them. They are installed with set screws. Very good fit and llok great in my opinion.

Look in the jeep porn mag to see them. Just wanted to pass this info on in case anyone was interested in them.

Thumbs up Automatic Shift Knob

Automatic Shifter Replacement:
I bought the Drake automatic shift knob, it was easy to install. For the 4 wheel shifter, I really had to pull it off to get the oem out. For those wondering how to take oem off and installing new knobs on JK, here are the steps from my experience:

1) take off Automatic oem shifter (twist the bottom plastic of the shifter to get to the hidden screw. (its a special star looking screw -sorry dont know technical name for it) Unscrew it and the sgifter comes off easily.

2) put on the new shifter, use the original screw for the Drake shifter because it does not come with one.

Four wheel Shifter Replacement
1) take off oem shifter by pulling knob straight up, no not turn, as hard as you can (there are no screws holding it in place, its just sqeezeed in tight)
2) put new Drake shifter on, peel back the rubber thread back to reveal a hidden screw, tighten it on the stick, and you are done.

It looks great, much better than the girly oem automatic shifter knob.
I know, I know, should have gotten stick, well, I have kids and my wife drives this JK sometimes, and the DC traffic is insane. So its a compromise. Thanks for reading and good luck!

so glad I found this. I fought with the t-case shift knob for a few minutes and then did a search and voila, so easy! and the knobs do look great. its a great contrast to my all black exterior.

Yeah that's right. It's his Jeep, not yours. Let the man feel proud if his ride. Who asked you anyway?

Okay so I am new to Jeep world and I am trying to replace my manual shift knob on my 07 and the hursh t-handle that I wish to replace the stock one with just doesn't seem to be staying. I installed it per the directions and I let it sit for like 14 hrs and I got in the next morning I attempted to put it in reverse and it fell off. Suggestions of anything that has worked shy of welding it?
