Default Shipping the Jeep

So long story short I have to ship my Jeep from Newport, RI back to San Diego, CA. I would prefer to drive it but that isn't in the cards. I'm looking for any advice/lessons learned.

FWIW, I gave my old Toyota pickup to my brother (Truckee CA) and he arranged to have it shipped by (independent) car hauler for around $700; The hauler oper showed up and loaded it as fast as he could and then it was gone. 4 days later my bro was driving it!! (MA to CA) I'm not sure what your time frame is but if you have the time it would be worth looking into. PM me if you need more info.
