Default In the shop a lot...

It seems that whenever I go off-road the Jeep seems to need to go into the shop. The most recent fixes have a bent rear axle, serpentine belt, tensioner pulley, ball joints... that's what I can recall that's been done recently. A lot of the problems happen when I hit water.

Are there any mods that can be done so that the engine is more water-resistant?

Has anyone else had as many problems with their rig as I've had?

Seems that if you play in the mud or water you're gonna pay...but it's so much fun

Fess up tho, the bent axle wasn't from a mudhole....that sounds like airborne to me.

Not airborne. I was actually going somewhat slow and came down on a rock.

Idler Pulley too.

And the front passenger seat belt isn't working. It's locked in rewound position.

Ahh gotcha. I had the bad seatbelt issue too and "massaged" it with a hammer to start working again.

One old school trick is to drape a peice of canvas over the front of your vehicle when crossing water. As long as yyou continue to move foreward the canvas will push the majority of the water to the side of the vehicle. YOu dont want to leave it on to long as the lack of airflow can cause overheating.

Plus it can't see where it's going. They do the same with horse's.
