I had a 2011 WRX and a 2011 Sahara JKU. When #3 came along, I had to lose one of them to get a family hauler. There are times I really miss the WRX but I felt the Jeep was overall a better all around vehicle for me. Especially since the gas mileage was almost identical. Jeep can at least take 87 octane. When I can afford a 3rd car, it will be something fast/fun again. I thought the WRX was a dream but it was kind of noisey on the highway and kind of just felt like a cheap econobox with a turbo. It didn't feel like a 30k car to me though no doubt, it was fun. My guess is if you get the STI, you'll miss your Jeep. Probably depends on your lifestyle the most.

If you get an STI, don't get a newer model. Try and find an unmolested 06-07. The new STi's just have no soul to them, and for $40k, you can find something faster.

If you switch your mind to an EVO, if you're looking at an Evo X, if you don't get the GSR you'll have a lot of problems if/when you try to mod. Another one you should look for an older model. The Evo 8 or 9 is a great choice.

Hell, you could just get an MS3, they're fun, but another animal on its own.

Just bought a 2013 wrx. IMO unless you plan to auto-x, the sti is unnecessary. Big changes coming in 2014, I would wait and see.

Wouldn't replace my jk, but the acceleration is insane for the price.

I had an 02 wrx. Lightly modded, 05 sti mildly modded, and 08 Sti even more mildly modded.
The price of 30-40 is crazy for the lack of quality or luxury. U would think u were in a 20k vehicle.
However if u can really drive, learn the limits of the car. You can't beat the performance and handling of these cars. I've let a lot of people down in 60k cars or more!
I had to get rid of mine due to way to many issues with the motor.
Dealer replaced 3x. Long story but when getting towards heavily modded anything u are always raking risks. But any ways you can't beat today's wrx. If u are not needing the adjustable diff and some small other things. U will be plenty happy with wrx.
I will have me another someday!
If u are going used go for a 05-07 Sti. Hard to find not touched but u can at least find one with light mods and go from there.

if you are thinking of selling for a wrx you probably don't wheel yours, or it is obviously not something that you care that much about....

with that being said I am a new jeep owner and I will say that they are slow as sh!t (pre 2012), noisy on the road, don't handle well on road, very expensive for what you get, mpgs suck, and i could go on. if you don't wheel it i have no idea why anyone would ever buy a wrangler, and that I tell that to people.

I wheel mine a lot and will always own a jeep....offroad makes all the bs worth it.

sounds like you don't wheel it, so...

If you don't go off-road.....
Yes, sell it.
You need to do what is best for you.

I'll add another comment.

I see you have a 2010. If you like having a Jeep just to cruise around in, but don't need or want to pay for all of the Rubi features, and you want a cushier interior....you might want to consider a 2013 Sport or Sahara.

Since 2010, there have been two interior updates, along with an engine and transmission update.

If you don't use the Jeep for it's intended purpose, sell it.

People say they want a Jeep all the time after being in mine or being taken off road, but they never consider the day-to-day driving.

If I didn't want to off road I wouldn't have gone near the Jeep.

I absolutely love my Jeep and wouldn't trade it for anything, most days. That said, if all I wanted was a kid/grocery hauler, I would have gone elsewhere. And I tell other people looking for that to go elsewhere too.

If you have to ask, get rid of it and find something you like more. You either love your jeep or you don't. I can't imagine many jeep owners on a jeep forum saying "jeeps suck, buy a car."
