Default Side steps

How many of you are running your stock side steps, without any kind of sliders? I have not made my mind up on what sliders I want but curious of the look without anything....

Thanks!

Im doing the same. I took my rock rails off and installed the sahara steps. The steps protect the side from mud and rock spray in the winter. Im going to run the steps till they get torn off. I dont do any crazy offroad so I should be ok for awhile.

Are there steps that bolt on to stock sliders? Then you could have the best of both worlds.

I have the Sahara. Sold the steps for $100 and bought stock
Rubi rails for $200. As for the look with out anything, I alway's thought it had a unfinished look.

The side steps was the first thing to go on the Sahara's. Got thew Mopar rock rails that are one up from the standard Rubi rails. These have a bar extension that is also used as a step.

Here are few pics of my X with nothing on the sides: http://warrenreptiles.com/gallery/ma...g2_itemId=2902

I have been trying to get used sides along with about 100 other people. Partially for the step up rather making the wife climb...and partially because both sides of my rig have a nice salt spray pattern on them including both door handles on each side. I'm no Nancy but dang it I don't want to grab a handful of dry crusted salt every time I or a passenger gets in.

I'm in full agreement with wanting a clean door. I don't want my wife, or any passenger to get dirty from my Jeep (unless we're wheeling).

There are some rocker panel guards that offer splash protection as well. I'm looking at:
Tomken Machine - 2x6 rectangle tube and less than $400!
Olympic - 'fat boy' or something that's not quite as wide as the Tomken
Rock Hard's guards - waaaaaayyyyy over priced ($800 - come on greedy vender)
Teraflex's aluminum - don't know the cost
TNT's Trek's

I like Olympic's Reversabars so my short wife and toddler kids can step up when not wheeling.
I really like the look of Jeep's stock plastic steps. Too bad they can't be reinforced.

I don't wheel hard and most likely my steps will never come into contact with anything that will break them. I do like the steps both for the wife and kids to get in and out and keeping a lot of dirt off the jeep. I live down an ROC road and when it is wet that stuff will sling up. You either need mudflaps or steps to keep the grit off the finish.
